Patient Care Information

If you are new to chiropractic care, there is a good chance you may not know what to expect pertaining to your care.  There is always an unknown element to that first visit from meeting the doctor for the first time, the agony of filling out form after form, or even just finding your way to and through our office!   At OHRC we have made it our business to make your visit with us as comfortable as possible.  We are here to walk you through your initial visit and continue that level of service all the way through to your preventative care!  Here is what to expect:

“90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by the movement of the spine.”

Stage 1—Pain Relief

If you are in pain when you come into our office, our first objective is to help you reduce pain and start feeling better as soon as possible. After examination to determine the severity of the underlying condition which is causing your pain, it could require a patient to need chiropractic care or adjustments 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.

Stage 2 —Correction Care

During the corrective phase of chiropractic care, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, which helps prevent further injury or pain. The goal of corrective or restorative chiropractic care is to help bring your body back to 100% functioning. It is typical to need chiropractic care or adjustments about 4-8 times per month for 5-12 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Stage 3—Wellness Maintenance

Once your body has fully healed and you are no longer experiencing back pain or other pain symptoms while performing your normal daily activities, it is important to come in for periodic chiropractic adjustments to avoid setbacks or problems in the future. Usually, this phase of chiropractic care only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-4 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.
